Family Friday: Anyway Cafe Sundae Craft

This week’s Family Friday is a tasty treat for all ages. After reading Anyway Cafe, you will make your very own banana boat! Just like in the story, you can make this desert anyway you want. Read our step-by-step guide on how to make this dessert at home. Have fun with this sundae craft!

What you need:

  • Banana
  • Microwave
  • Toppings of your choice (Recommended toppings: Marshmallows, chocolate chips, sprinkles, peanut butter)

Step 1

Open up your Footsteps2Brilliance App, and go to Level 1 (Red). In your library, find the book Anyway Cafe in the ALPS library. Read the book with your child. Be sure to touch the illustrations to see the pictures come alive!

Step 2

Carefully, cut along the curved part of the banana only cutting the peel.

Step 3

Stuff the banana with toppings of your choosing.

Step 4

Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. The banana should be warm but not mushy.

Step 5

Add more toppings and enjoy!
